Gold sponsors

Skellefteċ Town

The city of Skellefteċ has a long mining and smelting tradition combined with world-class institutions and a constantly growing industrial sector. Skellefteċ is known as “The Gold City”, and the world-renowned Skelleftefältet (Skellefteċ tract) is one of the richest mineral areas in the world and has a rich seam of gold. The area is home to the Swedish Geological Survey’s Mineral Office, the non-profit organisation Georange, educational institutions and a large number of major companies within the mining industry. Excellent infrastructure gives access to the whole Nordic and Russian mining market and the airline connections are also very good. Stockholm Arlanda International Airport is only one hour away. Skellefteċ Municipality has a population of 73,000 and, in addition to the mining and forestry industries, the city is known for its vibrant music scene and its passion for sports.
